MRS. MCCAHILL - RELIGION

I am beyond thrilled to be teaching Confirmation Preparation for 8th grade this year. I will be overseeing the Religion curriculum and am thrilled to have Mr. Cullen teaching Religion. This will be an exciting year with graduation and receiving Confirmation, thus completing their journey of Sacraments of Initiation. I will be providing an authentic and comprehensive presentation that Christ is the center of our faith, school, Church and family life through Sacramental preparation through Christ Our Life curriculum. This will lay a foundation for students to have a lifelong relationship with Christ after they graduate from St. Benedict School.

CONFIRMATION 2025

We have implemented an online system for logging and submitting community service hours called x2VOL.  The students have been trained on the x2VOL website and are responsible for their submissions.  

SBS community service hours required for each grade: 

• Sixth Grade - 5 Hours
• Seventh Grade - 10 Hours
• Eighth Grade - 10 Hours

NOTE:

• Class of 2026 (current 8th graders) You should have started on x2VOL, this includes any summer 2025  service hours performed. A total of 25 hours is required for the three years.

ALL GRADES:
All service hours performed for the school year are to be submitted on the x2VOL system.

We are currently looking for SBS students in middle school for altar servers, lectors, Church screen operators and live stream operators.  All volunteer roles include service hours (1 hour per Mass).

School service opportunities include:

• School Masses (First school Friday of the month)
• School events in Church, as needed

 
Church service opportunities include:

• All Masses: 
  • Altar Servers, Lectors, Screen Operators for Saturday 5pm, Sunday 8, 9:30, 11am, and 5pm
  • Live Stream Operators for 9:30am Sunday Mass only
• Weddings, as needed
• Funerals, as needed
