MRS DIVIRGILIO'S PICKS OF THE WEEK:

ELA: Unit 6 Test Friday January 9th.
In Unit 6, students learn how to add the suffix -s and -es to words to show more than one (plurals) and to make present-tense verbs. Children practice listening for word endings and learn when to add -s versus -es (such as with words ending in sh, ch, s, x, or z). Students continue to build strong reading and spelling skills by tapping out sounds, spelling words, and reading sentences with these new patterns.New Trick Words (Unit 6):

How You Can Help at Home:
✅ Practice reading and spelling the Trick Words daily.
✏️ Encourage your child to “tap out” each sound when spelling.
Read together each night and have your child point out any words that follow the Floss Rule.
When writing at home, remind them to check for double letters in words like bell or grass.
I encourage all students to work on the Unit 4 packet that was sent home to reinforce what we are reviewing in class and to review before test.
